Tea Tree Oil

Another known name of the tea tree, Myrtaceae, is the Indian laurel. There are many species of Australian origin tree. In particular, an oil with antibacterial properties is obtained from the leaves of melaleuca alternifolia species. The tea tree is native to Australia and has a wide range of trees or large shrubs. Usually grows in streams and swamp areas.

The tea tree name is used in Australia and New Zealand for several plants of the Myrtaceae family. The use of the tea tree name is based on Captain James Cook. The crews on the ship boiled the leaves of the tree and used them as tea substitutes. Especially melaleuca alternifolia species grows widely. A crown of tree tulle, 7 meters tall, features a bark of smoky whitish paper, with elongated and dense leaves. Dense and needle-like leaves are 10-35 mm long and 1 mm wide. It has soft texture and is rich in fat. The flowers of the tree are white with a length of 3-5 cm. Flowers blooming at the ends of the leaves bloom in early summer. They have a glittering feathery appearance. The cups are cup-shaped and have a diameter of 2-3 mm. Fruits in woody texture are arranged in branches. Melaleuca alternifolia species can grow in almost all kinds of soil and climate. Grows healthy in well-drained moist soil and sunny areas.
