Poppy, Papaveraceae is a plant species of the genus Papaver. Poppy likes places with moderate precipitation, where summers are hot. The homeland is thought to be the Eastern Mediterranean. It has been cultivated in India and Anatolia for a long time. Poppy plant which is grown in Afyon, Kütahya, Isparta, Denizli and Uşak neighborhoods in our country comes from poppy family. Poppy plant can grow up to 1.5 meters according to the area it grows, the leaves are egg-shaped, the edges resemble blue-green-green color. With the discoloration of the flowers, capsules grow in the middle form. Due to the presence of some components such as narcotine, morphine and the effect of strong substances, production is carried out under state control. Opium and similar anesthetics can be provided from the capsule.
