The thistle is a thorny plant from the daisy-like family that likes temperate climates of the Mediterranean Sea. Latin name Silybum Marianum thistle is a very durable medicinal plant and has many uses. It can reach 30 cm to 2 meters in length and its leaves have a veined white pattern. With spring, it turns into a collection of thorns with a green and ball shape. The thistles ripen in mid-summer and bloom in red and purple. It has broad, veined and white leaves. When crushed, it produces a milk-like liquid and is therefore known as milk thistles. It is a self-growing plant species in our country. It is also common in the Marmara and Aegean regions. It has a distinctive and beautiful smell.
