Chemical content a-pinene, limonene, 1,8-cineole, cis-ocimene, trans-ocimene, 3-octanone, camphor, linalool, linalyl acetate, caryophyllene, terpinen-4-ol and lavendulyl acetate.

It belongs to Ballıbabagiller family. Lavender can be up to 1 meter long. Its body has four corners, green color and pleasant smell. However, in the second year of the plant the trunk becomes woody. Leaves are grayish green color, thin, long and pleasantly fragrant. At the ends of long stalks, there are very fragrant, lavender blue flowers that open in the summer by creating sparse ears. The plant's stems, leaves, stems and flowers that give them a special smell on the small starry hairs. Each of the lavender's ripening small fruits has four hazelnut-shaped seeds.
