Hazelnut is the fruit of the “Corylus iyle tree with its Latin name. Hazelnut tree, which grows on earth, 36˚-41˚ northern latitudes and unique climatic conditions, yields up to 30 km from the coast and in places not exceeding 750-1000 meters in height. The leaves are round or slightly elongated and heart-shaped. It is 10-12 cm long and 8-10 cm wide. The edges are threaded. Buds start to form from June on annual shoots. Egg-shaped and green. Zuruf is a kind of leaf that surrounds the fruit from the outside. Size and shape vary according to the varieties. It is green in color and yellowing and frying in ripening fruits. It is generally long and fruit-grabbing in our domestic varieties. In foreign varieties, because the zuruf is short, the ripening fruits are poured to the ground and mechanically harvested from the ground. Turkey, Italy, Spain and America are the main countries where nuts are grown. Turkey carries approximately 65-75% of annual world production. hazelnuts are grown in Turkey, especially in the Black Sea, Ordu province is taking the lead in this location. Hazelnut oil is slightly sweet and has a mild aroma.
