The coffee is obtained by roasting and grinding a tree of the genus Coffea in the genus Coffea and the fruit seeds of this tree. The coffee tree begins to bear fruit at the age of 3 or 4 years. Fruit growth is slow, ripening takes place 8-12 months after flowering; a coffee tree often appears to carry both flowers and fruit. Fruit yield varies between 2-51 hectares. Coffee seeds lose their germination ability in a very short time. Many types of coffee trees yield commercially qualified coffee.
