Artichoke is a multi-year herbaceous plant of 50-150 cm tall, with blue-purple flowers of the daisy family. Grows in southern Europe and around the Mediterranean. Artichoke was obtained as a result of the selection of thorny plant known as camel thorn among the people and which grows spontaneously in the countryside. Artichoke is a perennial vegetable. It can stay in its location for 8-10 years and continues to give products. However, for economic production, the plantation needs to be renewed every 5-6 years.
