The Argania Spinosa tree, known as the Argan Tree in the South-West region where Morocco is endemic, is called the Ağ Tree of Life.. It is believed to come from the village of Argana. It is also known as Altın Liquid Gold en which is obtained from the seed of medicinal oil or fruits. Flowers up to 15 meters in length, yellow and green in color. Fruit is hard shelled. Argan oil is obtained from this fruit. Fruits ripen in May and are harvested in June-July. Since this tree has pointed spines, it is difficult to harvest. Oil contains high amounts of vitamin E. It contains various compounds such as subcutaneous oil and sterols. It is also rich in Omega 6 and Omega 9 fat components. It has been used by Moroccan women for years for both healthy eating and beauty.
